Meet Zoë...
Zoë is passionately committed to helping people from all walks of life and genuinely loves what she does. Starting out working in the public sector, Zoë accrued experience in personnel and payroll administration, contract administration and management, and then 'fell into' recruitment in the private sector (an area that she had always felt drawn to), before starting a boutique career development business. The rest, as they say, is history!
In addition to running and operating Impressability, Zoë is a passionate advocate for Human Rights, particularly across disadvantaged groups including diverse socio-economic groups, CALD communities and those experiencing unemployment and living in poverty.
She is currently studying a Juris Doctor degree (Post Graduate Law) through RMIT and has volunteered for various research projects. These projects have included:
Woor-Dungin | www.woor-dungin.com.au
Zoë provides communications and strategic consultation for Woor-Dungin, and sits on the implementation committee as a Woor-Dungin representative for the roll out of the Rethinking Criminal Record Checks legislation.
The Justice Map | www.justicemap.org.au
Zoë took on the Communications Lead and Literature Review Supervisor roles in 2019 for the work going into this research project investigating over-criminalisation in Australia. The focus of Zoë's research here was related to the over-criminalisation of people experiencing unemployment.
As a flow on from her advocacy work, Zoë writes a weekly column for The Canberra Times, syndicated nationally across the Australian Community Media newspapers including The Newcastle Herald and the Border Mail, and she won the inaugural Victorian Homelessness Media Award for the Opinion/Commentary category in 2019. Zoë has also been featured in Marie Claire magazine, Flying Solo and Mouths of Mums.
