Career Coaching is not just for the corporate executives – everybody has the right to a fulfilling career regardless of whether they are a CEO or a labourer. Many career development companies focus on leadership training and corporate career advancement and while we can help you with that if that is where you are heading in your career, we are not focused on the “type” of client that we have, but the type of work that we can do to make a difference to our clients.

Steeped in the practical approach of our Career Development Specialist, Zoë Wundenberg’s five steps, named the START approach to career coaching, we help you design realistic goals to achieve tangible outcomes that will help you on your way to greater job satisfaction.

Zoë Wundenberg has a graduate diploma in careers education and development from RMIT and is specifically qualified as a careers counsellor and coach. She is also accredited in the administration of the Strong Interest Inventory vocational assessment.

Career counselling is like personal counselling, only with a focus on your work life. There is a widely held misconception that a career counsellor is only helpful to highschool graduates trying to choose university subjects or to people wanting to change careers. While a career counsellor can certainly help you with these things, the value of career counselling goes far beyond these purposes.

• Struggling with stress or anxiety at work?
• Suffering workplace bullying? Or not connecting with a colleague?
• Feeling dissatisfied with your job?
• Loving what you are doing and want to manage your direction?

Sometimes, when you are not quite geling with your team (or your boss), talking to someone who is not invested in the outcome (such as a manager, colleague or family member) or involved in your personal life can help you gain perspective without the pressure of meeting the other party’s expectations.

Sometimes, we have a week at work that we just need to talk about: the good, the bad and the ugly, to help us understand what is happening in our work environment, manage change as it happens and keep a finger on the pulse of our own career development. Calling up and making an appointment to see your career counsellor regularly is a great way to achieve positive career mental health.
